A native of Lynden in Whatcom County,Jacob DeGraaff has spent his career representing ordinary citizens, small business owners, and consumers in Washington in bankruptcy and civil cases. Jacob often works with filers in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases involving rental properties, developers, and small business, and is experienced in many other areas of debt and consumer law.
Jacob is a 2001 graduate of Western Washington University in Bellingham, and received his law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego in 2005. Prior to co-founding Henry DeGraaff & McCormick, he worked in general practice at Libey, Enley, Esser & Nelson in Pullman, and bankruptcy law at John Long Law in Issaquah.
Jacob is a member of the Professionalism Committee of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA), and chairs the Member Outreach Subcommittee. He is coauthoring the professionalism chapter of the forthcoming edition of the Washington Civil Procedure Deskbook, and has co-written a number of articles on debt and consumer issues for the King County Bar Bulletin.
